In this interview with Voyage Phoenix, Maggie Perez shares the story behind the creation of Help Young Adults Arizona, a nonprofit organization born out of her personal experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Maggie opened her home to several young adults facing homelessness and a lack of resources, realizing there was a significant gap in support for individuals between the ages of 18 and 25. Inspired by a conversation with one of the young adults, she founded the organization to provide essential resources, including mentorship, financial literacy, career readiness programs, and mental health support.
Maggie also discusses the challenges of designing effective programs and securing consistent funding, as well as her professional journey as a Sr. Account Manager with over a decade of experience in the employee benefits industry. She emphasizes the importance of believing in others and how a simple act of encouragement can make a lasting impact, inspiring confidence and growth.
